Do you ever sing in the shower? Singing your favorite tunes while your family listens along. Or maybe you never sing in the shower but you’re a real karaoke star, with the whole café enjoying that one song you know by heart. But what if you could do karaoke in the shower!? Doucheservice provides karaoke showers for parties and events. Recently, we brought the karaoke shower to café de Bonte Os in Delft!
Singing Competitions in the Karaoke Shower
The Origin of the Karaoke Shower from Delft
Student association AEGEE Delft asked Doucheservice to create a karaoke shower for the party ‘Het Collectief’ which took place last March. Doucheservice was happy to assist with this project and transformed two showers into karaoke showers. In a karaoke shower, the showerhead is replaced by a microphone and the shower is illuminated by various colored LED lights. Song lyrics were projected onto a screen placed in front of the shower cubicle. Participants sang a song together or competed against each other, with the person hitting the most correct pitches winning!
Karaoke Shower for Your Party or Event?
On the day of the event, we bring two temporary showers with us and set them up on-site in a suitable location. We decorate them nicely with some lights, and upon request, we can even bring a smoke machine for real special effects. Getting soaked is not recommended at a party or event, so to prevent this, we don’t connect the shower to the water supply. Therefore, singing off-key has no consequences! Besides the showers, we of course bring a computer with karaoke software and two microphones. The song lyrics can be projected onto a screen or wall. If you have any song requests that absolutely must be sung at the event, you can ask us, and we’ll make sure it happens.
Karaoke Shower at Café de Bonte Os Delft
Café de Bonte Os is a sports café located in Delft. It is situated in the center of Delft. There’s plenty to do in the café: pool billiards, darts, or watching sports matches are all possible. Of course, you can also just have a drink at the bar. In addition to all this, they also offer a daily special at a great price. The café is ready for reservations for parties and events such as our karaoke nights!
Student association AEGEE Delft organizes an annual party called ‘Het Collectief’. At the last edition, more than 300 students were present, and it was the first time that the karaoke showers were featured at this party. All partying students could test out the karaoke showers. There were two showers side by side, and in front of the showers was a large projector displaying the song lyrics. It was a competition against each other, with the person hitting the most correct pitches winning! Of course, songs were also sung together. During the party, many positive reactions were received about the shower karaoke from the students in Delft; they found it a very original idea to transform showers into karaoke showers.
Were the Karaoke Showers “Delft Student-proof”?
All good things must come to an end, including the party. Everything had to be cleaned up, but the big question now is of course whether the karaoke showers survived. What would be left of the showers after a night of karaoke with partying students? The morning after, the showers were collected and the damage was assessed. Apart from a few broken LED lights, there was no damage to the showers! So we can say that the karaoke showers are student-proof!
